Leading civil engineering companies, BAM Nuttall and Mott MacDonald, are working on a joint venture (BMMJV) on behalf of Leeds City Council to provide flood protection for the River Aire that runs through Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire.

Managing waste on site

The nature of the flood alleviation works means several small sites are producing hazardous waste including spill response, used paint tins, mastic and resin containers.

With space restrictions, BMMJV is using 200 litre Hazibags to safely store hazardous materials during the project.
